Fan Of Films’s review published on Letterboxd:
When I originally saw this I gave it a 4.5/5, I don’t know if I was just having a “fun time” with this or not, first viewing, but rewatching it, it’s still enjoyable.
My biggest negatives are that the there’s things in the film that are cliche, whether it’s Wade’s character being a “nobody.” Him still falling in love with Samantha, after meeting her in real life, or just them coincidentally stumbling on the right video, to get the key.
I’ve only read almost half of the book, and in it, Wade isn’t a one note character, and had more depth.
But yeah, this film is fun, the action scenes are well made, and the CG doesn’t feel gimmicky, but there are problems (not to mention that none of the characters really change)
