Hmmmm....so this was a very good movie.
So much of this plot is bonkers and is so finely tuned and directed that you never give it a second thought as to why it works so well.
The film definitely has something to say about how a life in pursuit of money corrupts the soul, but I feel like there’s something in the film which speaks to how the role of men in society and the traditional sense of masculinity (being wealthy, Paul Bunyan) aren’t as important as just being a good person, like we see in Marge and her husband.
Clever, entertaining, funny and pretty dark— this movie is one of those completely original, incredibly captivating movies which deserves its cult status.
