Why do we go to the cinema? We go to be entertained, to be fascinated, to be educated, and Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey achieves all of these qualities in an experience that stimulates our minds, forcing us to engage the film at a level that is beyond what is expected of us. A film that rewards you for being patient, displaying themes, ideas and messages that connects with aspects of our realities, and blending elements of fact and fiction, creating something cinematically groundbreaking and valuable. This is a film that will forever be relevant, an avant-garde film that would appeal to this generation and the generations to come.
There is no point for me to dissect the film in this entry as I have exhaustively done so in this review
