Being able to watch a movie on digital cable with commercials while sitting with your fully vaccinated parents is really something special, doesn’t much matter the movie

Avengers: Age of Ultron 2015
I realized I’ve never actually seen this in its entirety and feeling reenergized with the MCU because of Wandavision, I figured it was time to watch. A weaker Marvel entry but not as horrible as I thought it would be. I’m mostly obsessed with Nat and Clint, any chance to see more character development. The Bruce/Nat pairing didn’t work for me, it felt flimsy. And there were glimmers of Fraction’s Hawkeye in there, I think, which I of course like.

The Emperor's New Groove 2000
Yes, I did watch this after reading the Vulture piece on the making of it.

A Christmas Story 1983
We’re keeping this on all day in the background as we bake and cook so by the end of Christmas I’ll confidently say I’ve finally seen this. It’s...fine. It’s kind of fun to see those iconic lines in context.

Strictly Ballroom 1992
I was so attached to this movie as a kid and watching it again, I still love it. It's corny, there's a goofy slapstick element to it, but its got heart and is so genuine in its storytelling. The world of this movie is so insular, its characters so wrapped up in their own ballroom dancing society, and I think if you introduced any other element of its present day into it, you'd lose the storybook magic of it.
And you know, the dancing is great.

Lake Placid 1999
Is it worth watching just to hear Betty White call Brendan Gleeson “officer fuckmeat”?
Maybe.
