Still one of the most subversive movies to come out of the Hollywood system. Russell wrote a tremendous script that unfortunately still rings true. Three Kings could’ve been released post-9/11, and again in the early 2010s, and probably tomorrow, and the morality (or lack there of) would remain timeless. It’s a movie with the type of kinetic energy that’s just impossible to deny. Still, the tonal shifts don’t always work for me, and I find the photography completely unappealing.
