Disclaimer: Canadian here, I don't share the collective trauma of 9/11 in the same way that my neighbours down south do.
Such a great concept, and it's seemingly overflowing with themes and ideas bubbling beneath the overly-stylish surface: toxic masculinity, systemic racism, privilege, 9/11, pedophilia, the list goes on.
I am finding that the more I reflect on it, the more depth seems to have been present than I initially realized. There are all kinds of nuggets of wisdom woven into the dialogue, something that suggests there is a thorough exploration of these many themes hiding in this film, but the end result feels like a bit of a mess. It didn't seem to have any clear or concise angle…
