maybe relying on the ability to secure a famous cameo to make your movie memorable is, from a critical standpoint, lazy writing. HOWEVER: who among us would not absolutely 100% no hesitation do the exact same thing if provided with the budget and the keanu?
KE-AN-U
KE-AN-U
KE-AN-U
(this is what I expect the audience at the Oscars to chant when surprise nominee Keanu Reeves wins Best Supporting Actor)
im sure it took keanu a lot of effort not to cause a mass shoot out in that neon lit restaurant
ali wong casting randall park, daniel dae kim, and keanu as her love interests is legend behavior
“look at everything leonardo dicaprio has done for climate change!”
“what has he done for climate change?”
“he’s working on it.”
it’s the last day of asam heritage month so naturally I’m gonna watch this and write a long review that nobody asked for 🥴
1. sasha eating spam and rice...if that isn’t every day of my life
2. me marcus’ mom
🤝
using scissors to cut vegetables
3. randall park rapping is something I never knew I needed to hear
4. KEANU MF REEVES. COULD NOT STOP SMILING DURING HIS CAMEO WOW 10/10 WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR THAT MAN
5. I laughed and cried so much. this world deserves more asian led romcoms!!
it RULES seeing films like this by aapi creators on platforms like netflix. so many little things made me feel seen and my heart is full 🥰
it's true women only want to date the stoner musician childhood friend they've become more successful than or keanu reeves
Best believe I punched Keanu Reeves
And it was better than any scene
You could see in Speed
I hit John Wick
And now I'm feeling so appealing
Basically, I'm a god
You could call me Hercules
Lighthearted romcom with extremely charming asian leads. Just what I needed at this point in my life tbh. Thank you Ali and Randall. And also to Keanu. Keanu if you're reading this I'm free to hang out on thursdays mwahhh
The man who embraces his microcode nothingness shined greater than any. Maybe I’ll use my redundancy to pay for a $6400 meal.
Jimmy Wooooooo. But actually it’s so much fun and Randall Park and Ali Wong rock
This film had some really funny lines and I liked the performances, but the presentation and editing was so basic. If the presentation was better could’ve been a higher rating
It was like watching a really long mediocre sitcom episode but the raps were great and made it worth watching while doings other things
Why write a screenplay if you have little to no narrative imagination?
I don’t like this movie but I no longer believe in rating movies I don’t like. Ali Wong’s stand up specials are absolutely brilliant. Her memoir is deeply heartfelt and reflects her sensibilities as a comedic voice. I don’t doubt for a second that she put in all of her effort in the script for this film. I don’t want to be a source of overt negativity on this site anymore unless the film truly warrants it. ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE, for the most part, is pretty inoffensive and mediocre.
Keanu ❤️
There's a scene early on where Randall Park is supposed to be 19 and has a DVD of Hitch in the year 2003. That's a real sentence.
Other than that, it was funny sometimes I guess!
4.3/10
Randall Park should be in a million romcoms. He’s the perfect every man and as charming as a Paul Rudd. The only bad thing about this movie was Ali Wong’s crying scenes. Over all so cute and fun.
Maria Luísa 386 films
