Synopsis
A perfect gentleman... a brutal killer.
When a rebellious girl from a good family falls for the town drifter, she unwittingly brings a psychopath into her loving home.
2011 Directed by Jared Cohn
When a rebellious girl from a good family falls for the town drifter, she unwittingly brings a psychopath into her loving home.
Basically just a bad rip-off of the 1996 movie "Fear" but without Mark Wahlberg.
The plot is pretty much exactly the same; wealthy teen girl (Brooke) meets mysterious, yet charming boy (Denny) and all is well and good until he shows her his true colours and becomes unhinged.
The thing about these sorts of movies is your always curious as to how crazy the guy will get in his obsession with the girl. But this movie just ruins it in the very first scene with Denny assaulting and murdering an innocent girl. So from the two minute mark we now know he is capable of murder, and quite enthusiastic about it.
Born Bad goes way over the top in…
I don't know what it is but I always enjoy just the way Michael Welch goes about doing things. I see the Asylum is the company to have distributed this which surprises me because it never felt like it was that bad. The story was a very good one and it was easy to enjoy for the most part so it's strange as for an Asylum film, this is the first thing that is nice that I have said about a film by them.
Decent story but The character decisions are beyond stupid. Sleep with boyfriend on first date, ditch my family for him after he goes crazy on them and he beats me in the face so I use makeup the cover it. Parents don't call the police. I have a gun but don't use it. After I defeat crazy boyfriend I make crazy boyfriend promise not to kill me so I can take him to the hospital. LOL it goes on and on. I though the crazy boyfriend did a good job. It kinda reminds me of Edward Norton from the movie Primal Fear. The story is a redo of the movie Fear. I don't hate it.
I was over a friend’s house and she wanted me to see this movie she recorded. I asked her to describe it. Told her it sounds like a Lifetime movie, but still agreed to watch it. Sure enough, the Lifetime logo was n the corner of the screen. I call Lifetime the Horrible-Things-Happening-To-Women Station.
The movie starts out with violence, including a rape. I thought maybe she missed the beginning part, but no. Normally I can relax and suspend expecting realism in some movies, but this was ridiculous: the teen gets abducted by a criminal and the father doesn’t call the police? There were numerous other scenes like that. Another thing that bothered me was how phony the blood looked. It was black!
The movie did get my heart beating a little fast but I wouldn’t bother seeing it again, and wouldn’t have missed it if I never saw it.
For an Asylum film it's decent, but that's only in comparison to their other films. It's nothing more it's nothing less. It's more forgettable than anything else.
Sort of violent, except after a slew of Hostel films, this one is tame. Surprised how old Meredith Monroe looks, though. She's like 45 or something. Used to be a fan.
Pretty awful straight up rip-off of FEAR if you remember that one.
Welch is so far over the top here. Like the film never suggests why he would flip and become so evil at times. It's almost laughable when he starts screaming going into violent fits.
The daughter was just a dope. Her dumb character made me stop caring about her, and the movie, about 40 minutes in. She knows he's evil, but leaves her family for him and then the film basically wants us to feel sorry for her? Nope.
I was put off that the mom is played by Monroe who was Andie on Dawson's Creek. Monroe is nearly 50 years old in real life. That makes me feel ancient.
Movie wasn't all that good however it would keep your attention. At least one horrific scene in the beginning.
I learned from this that there are additional uncut Lifetime movie releases with copious nudity and graphic violence.
