What a ride this has been. Some Ari observations:

1. This dude is weird as hell.
2. Either he's really fascinated by defective families, or he had a seriously effed up childhood
3. He takes what makes most people the most uncomfortable and does the most with it.
4a. Sometimes his shock value is effective in its restraint. It provokes investigation into the real issues he's exploring. 
4b. Sometimes the shock value is shoveled on, suffocating any hopes of caring about a bigger idea.
5. Stunning cinematography and editing pretty much across the board. Especially how the music editing impeccably punctuates his comedy.
6. I'm v excited for Hereditary

They all got that self-satisfied grin all over their smug faces like they have just confirmed that they are the most impressive fucking thing in the world and you just got to bow your head and say god bless as if there isn't an actual exchange going on. Good framing and composition, good editing, good comedic timing, and a good central performance with a sobering message. It ain’t perfect, it’s a little preachy, but so far it’s the best Ari Aster short film I’ve seen.
