A satirical look at objectivism and why being selfish and an asshole doesn’t pay. It’s also littered with lazy jokes, terrible camera work, pacing, editing, performances, subplots, recurring gags that are none in the least funny. It is a chore to sit through. It’s competent in parts and sometimes it looks ok, the cameos are amusing but as a whole this is not just boring but repetitive and tiresome.
You can only make a joke so many times. Larry David improvising and everyone just winging it and hoping they get something good out of it. The humor is kept to self referential, relative, weird quirks about things in life that are pretty irrelevant to the story, and a comedy of manners that’s always the same way about rich people, black people, minorities, etc. Not insightful, not funny, not even biting towards any of those but mostly out of touch and worst of all: lazy.
