Abbasso l'amore, Abajo el Amor, Abaixo o Amor, К черту любовь!
film fun fact: down with love (2003) invented romance, comedy, feminism, she did that! cinema, gone girling, the 1960s, AND ewan mcgregor
sarah paulson and david hyde pierce pretending to be straight ......... it's just not realistic!
LA LA LAND is probably going to win a bunch of awards that should be retroactively given to this movie instead
that scene where renée zellweger is watching a clip of judy garland sing, in the 60s... you could call that fate
finally! a feminist rom com version of gone girl starring ewan mcgregor! it's all i've ever dreamed of!!!
me: yes! down with love! men aint shit!
ewan mcgregor: *smiles*
me: on second thought...
THIS IS JUST EWAN MCGREGOR'S VILLAIN ORIGIN STORY OF HOW HE WENT FROM BEING A TOP TO A BOTTOM
I don’t know where I was in 2003 but I was obviously under a rock. I knew about his title but didn’t know anything about it. Really impressed. Watched on DVD and would like to revisit in HD because there is so much detail in the production design and art direction. Hilarious script and performances.
Not a single nomination from Academy or Golden Globes (from what I can tell). If this was a 2018 film, it would be a major contender.
dios es mucho pedir que ewan mcgregor me coma entera como se comió ese pedazo de chocolate?
even better on the rewatch, i am still beholden to the production design, the score is simultaneously beautiful and hilarious, and everything about the performances and dialogue is to die for
Fun homage/parody of 60s rom-coms. Sarah Paulson and David Hyde Pierce particularly shine.
it rocks!!!!!!!!
ewan mcgregor’s eyes were so blue in that last office scene no joke i cried a single tear
no movie ever made even comes close to this level of masterpiece and yes I'm dead serious !!
