Synopsis
Marilyn Monroe obsessed serial killer.
1993 Directed by John McPherson
Marilyn Monroe obsessed serial killer.
Timothy Busfield plays a psychology professor recently divorced from one his undergrads and films children playing in the park outside his apartment balcony while drinking sherry with Cloris Leachman. One day he accidentally films a murder in the apartments across the way and the whole Hitchcock, De Palma gear kicks in, which includes Heather Locklear becoming the object of his obsession. The whole thing is pretty much stripped of any style outside a few Hitchcockian camera setups. But even those come off completely uninspired, giving away the made for TV product. Locklear is literally dressed in either all white or all black depending on her character's motivation. More entertaining though than it should be but not nearly as good in any other way as it could. At least it maintains a consistent level of ethics as Busfield ends things by dating one of his grad students.
