A big gap in my overall viewing was finally made right. Should have been following this my whole life. How it had been alluding me truly makes no sense. What a dodo I was. Still am. But I'm less so for having rightly seen this.
It may be a "Sesame Street" movie, but it acts more like the a Muppet one. And like some of theirs that came before it's a road trip too, another huge plus.
Sweet cameos too, another always welcome staple. Though it might be a shame that John Candy doesn't interact with any of the inhabitants of the street, he does get to play with familiar chums of his, so it kind of evens things out. Nice shoutout to another legend in family entertainment, Mr. Rogers too Chevy Chase.
Sally Kellerman almost steals as the puppet antagonist of the proceedings. The bluebird bit gets as real as Pixar does whenever they wanna make us sad.
