Triple Ed Wood's budget for Plan 9 from Outer Space and you get this gem! It's always nice to add another one to my cherished collection of hilariously awful oddities.
Once again, aliens are trying to steal Earth's women so they can repopulate their own planet. There's a robot astronaut involved. LOTS of stock footage. Incongruous music and ill-placed cutaway shots. Veteran actor James Karen making his feature film debut, and looking as confused as the rest of us.
And Lou Cutell, as the nefarious Dr. Nadir, is a must-see, must-be-dreamed-about-because-dreaming-about-him-just-has-to-better-than-dreaming-about-anything-else sight to behold. If you are unaware of gifts Lou Cutell has bequeathed us, then I will remind you: he played Amazing Larry in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. Who, I still maintain, deserves his own movie.
Anyway, this is the best kind of crap. It sputters here and there, but overall it's an inept, brainless blast.
