I love that Jason is a big dumb idiot who keeps falling down because he only cut one eyehole in the sack over his head

Working for Paul can get you killed, but at least there is a chance you can go skinny dipping in the dark or wheelchair diving. Jason still looking for that damn hockey mask. Good thing his homie from The Town that Dreaded Sundown lent him his sack of a mask. Moral of film: Always ask is there an after hours bar, it might just save your ass.

GOOD SEQUEL IS GOOD. I love the pacing, continued atmosphere, hammer to the fat cop’s head, Amy fucking Steel, and one of my favorite ending sequences to any horror film. Sometimes I wish we got 2 more movies with Town that Dreaded Sundown—sack head—flannel shirt Jason! This is primo 1981 slasher cinema, one of the best in a year of MANY and an excellent follow up to one of my all time favorite movies. Nothin’ but love.

If you think about it, this is supposed to take place 5 years after the original... making this, 3 and 4 taking place in 1985. Then there’s another time jump from 4 to 5, and another in 6. At that point I’m pretty sure part 6 set in the late 90’s even though it was filmed in 1986... probably making 7 and 8 take place in the 2000’s lolololol. This is headache inducing stuff.

HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!

Watching Friday the 13th part 2 in a 13-hour marathon yesterday really drove home how wrong I was the last time I watched it, this movie is a perfect fucking sequel that is actually better than the first film on every level: better final girl, better gore, better acting, better pacing, better slasher, period.

There aren't enough horror movies with killers who worship their mother's desiccated severed head (and her cable knit sweater).

The campiest of the 80s horror franchises except maybe Chucky (and not just because it takes place in a literal summer camp). It's just a super campy, somewhat thrilling, really fun movie that gives us some actual Jason Voorhees. I could've done with better gore and more glorious deaths but I had fun. This is what people who don't watch slashers think every single slasher is. Did I mention it's campy?

Bu kadar karakteri önemsemenizi sağlaması, dozunda gerilim sahneleri ve esprileriyle epey eğlenceli buldum. Sadece baştaki türk dizisi özeti gibi ve aptala anlatırcasına olan “kabus” sahnesini sevmedim ve böyle kötü başlangıçtan sonra korkmaya başladım fakat gönül rahatlığıyla söyleyebilirim ki Part 2, ilki kadar iyi bir film. Hatta daha iyi bile olabilir. Çocuğu öldürdükten sonra sevişen gençlere geçtiğimiz sahne ise filmin zirve anı. İşte orada “Olmuş bu film.” dedim. Gaspar Noe’nin, Irreversible’ın tamamında yaptığı gibi. Ölen genci görünce bu iki gencin de kaderinin aynı olacağını bilmek birazcık acıtıyor. Genelde slasherlarda bu işlemez bende ama bu sefer çok iyiydi.

Endlich sind die Tode cool eingefangen, dazu gibt es wieder eine wirklich schöne Charakterdynamik. Auch ist die Hauptfigur relativ clever und nicht so dumm wie viele andere Genre Figuren.
Das Ende ist dann für mich allerdings viel zu Over The Top und passt einfach nicht zum bisherigen Film.
Macht aber Lust auf mehr.

Sackhead pitchfork Jason is 50/50 for me. I love his clear flaws that setup room for growth over the course of the future films, but this is his first gig and he fumbles a lot. His ankles should have been shattered the way he kept getting juked out. It's kind of like seeing Spider-Man when he first tries out his web shooters.

The chase scenes feel like they're padding out time in this already short film and they do these awkward camera transitions in the middle of them that feel like time-lapse signals and I couldn't stop laughing.

The kills are cool and they thankfully toned down the aggressiveness of the sound design but this one is still a little on the weaker side imo.

Might I interest you in a charcuterie board of assorted cheeses? Aged since 1981, the distinct stronger flavors may make you cringe, while the milder flavors offer a smooth tang, which may even elicit laughter.

On a real note, there’s a lotta charm here, and I respect it as much as I respected the first for forming the slasher genre with such confidence. And a lotta great entertainment has spawned from these films -like Dead by Daylight-, so full respect.

It’s basically a rinse and repeat of the first film but with Jason as the killer, however, that’s not really a bad thing considering it’s a formula that works and it makes for another entertaining 80s slasher flick. Also Ginny is an absolute badass and Jason was clearly no match for her, if they ever sort out the rights for the franchise, I want to see her team up with Chris from Part 3 for a sequel.

Really loved the opening sequence (the one after the flashbacks). A truly and well directed slasher clip, with an good rhythm and sound work at it. The rest of the movie don't quite follows this opening, unfortunately. There are a lot of moments of misleading jumpscares and not so satisfying horror killings after a long worked out tense sequences. But that's the most iconic cabin setup and best young cast so far. And i really liked the approach on Jason here. He's more like an truly adult killer, taken directly from an slasher or giallo kind of movie, then an childish overpower monster that only learned to kill, as we see on the sequels. It brings some cruel and sadistic aspect to his persona and acts, especially when he is on scene.

Pretty much a perfect slasher! I love this version of Jason. Ginny is the best “final girl”, with my apologies to miss Laurie Strode. The new shout factory blu looks really good, and it’s very cool to finally see that cut footage. This is the one, folks.

Una secuela bastante decente que eleva la franquicia de los Vorhees a un terreno que la primera nunca se atrevió a explorar, y aunque no sea un peliculón, me parece una cinta más que decente y que supuso la confirmación de una franquicia.
