I have a killer headache, so this review is going to be short and sweet. Well, it'll be short at least. I can't guarantee sweet.
Frozen horror from the Great White North comin' atcha. A surprisingly good, low-budget, Canadian horror film that feels like it combines elements of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Shining, Black Christmas, and Psycho. The remote lodge is a great setting for horror and the whole thing is just dripping with claustrophobic atmosphere that reminded me so much of Black Christmas. In fact, the two films would pair perfectly, making for one hell of a double feature. And, like most Canadian horror, it's frigid and bleak, just the way I like 'em. Oh, and the cinematography is so good that I looked up the cinematographer, John Holbrook, and he actually has a second unit DP credit for Rambo: First Blood, which came out the year after this. 🍁☃️
