My main man Nietzsche already wrote a review for this film:
'When you stare into the abyss the abyss stares back at you.'
Impossible to look away. Its crappiness just sucks you in and drains your soul, leaving an empty shell behind.
Avoid at all costs.
This is not a bad movie.
It's not a great movie, either. It's cliched. It's corny. It's not well acted, and the writing could use a lot of work. But that's true of about 90% of movies, including many critical darlings and hugely popular films. There's not a single MCU film that isn't cliched, corny, badly acted, and badly written, yet they regularly rate highly with film snobs and the population at large. In 2002, the Oscars rewarded A Beautiful Mind as Best Picture: an ableist depiction of white man's struggle with mental illness and being exploited by the state. It's corny, cliched, badly acted, and badly written. It stars a white man and panders to the Academy.

"It's a little embarrassing" -Mariah Carey,

People don't talk like this.
Confession... I really wanted to like this... I was really excited to write a contrarian review about how people that don't like Glitter are just dummies, but no... this is really quite bad. I don't know how you screw this up so bad... Is it Mariah's fault?
I've seen a couple of reviews from people that don't understand the hate this movie receives and I would just encourage those people to actually watch the movie because it's horrible. The lead character has no character really... at all... so it just becomes you watching "Mariah Carey" go through a bottom tier Disney Channel Original…
I don't get all the hate this movie gets. I really just don't understand it. It really is not that horrible. I mean it's no Oscar worthy movie but like it's NOT THAT BAD. I JUST WANT THE GLITTER HATE TO STOP.
I cry at night for this movie and all the unnecessary hate it gets. I pray for all those who hate this movie. May God bless you all in your next life.

That poster is one of the most soothing things on my eyes. Peripherally, Mariah has been one of the pop singers I've liked consistently throughout all of the phases of my life. A girl in 7th grade named Felicia talked about her legs a lot. They're worth talking about. I thought this movie was going to be magical. In her way she's quite magical, although probably too aware of it. She's so ubiquitous that I can't imagine my childhood without her voice in the distance. This movie was supposed to be good,…

— Lena d'Água, sobre o DVD do filme Glitter
é um filme bonitinho a mariah até que consegue atuar e o roteiro até que é interessante pra época tá ótimo
Oh to be in a club in the 80’s dancing to a sped up remix of “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life” in a disastrous ensemble of a paper boy cap, braids, a purple vest OVER a red spaghetti strap tank top and 70’s shorts shorts to boot.
Anyways the cover of this is deeply ingrained in my childhood memories but I legitimately could not remember what happened so I rewatched it at the risk of unlocking a deep dark memory (it was fine and also would be worth it). The first half is pretty solid. I was in absolute disbelief at how fast this movie went though. Mariah Carey legitimately was put into foster care 11 minutes in…
Terrence Howard is so bad at math that he invented his own math to prove he wasn't dumb as hell.
As a lifelong Mariah fan, I'm obligated to enjoy this film on some level. :) The plotting and acting is nothing special and the story seems to move along far too quickly, but it's definitely not the pile of garbage it's been made out to be. Certainly a great film to watch for fans of both Mariah and the 80s!
