Look I've been rewatching the whole MCU and the upgrade in style and personality with this movie is unreal.
Emmet the LEGO as Peter Quill an outlaw cowboy space pirate ladies man with a code name who leads a group of misfits known as the Guardians of the Galaxy against an evil guy who will stop at nothing to destroy the universe. This group of misfits includes a sexy green chic, a tree creature, a talking raccoon, a WWE wrestler, and the best part is they turn the MCU world upside down in one of the best summer blockbusters in recent memory. Mixtape. Brave mommy. SPACESHIP! Junker? A Blood Diamond baddie. Magic ball. When you forget the name of your one night stand before she leaves. Troll doll. Merle Dixon. The first time you see Rocket and Groot. Stan…
I cried. This is perfect. I am Groot. Nothing goes over Drax's head. He has excellent reflexes. Rocket isn't a raccoon. I am Groot. Star Lord? WHO? Sexy Aliens. I want The Inhumans film now. Stan Lee is a perv. Great film. I actually cried, genuine tears and the guy next to me too. He was crying, and we were crying and then we hugged because the film was so awesome and it's so emotional that I have actually seen this.
I am Groot. I am crying. This is great. I don't even care. Fuck you. The soundtrack is great and each of the characters are great too. Marvel's risk of actually making this film gives me great pleasure. And…
Just when I thought Marvel wouldn't be able to top Captain America: The Winter Soldier, along comes Guardians of the Galaxy.
Guardians of the Galaxy is easily Marvel's most unique and entertaining film to date. This film seriously has a massive pair of balls. It took risks that no other Marvel film has even come close to doing. And let me tell you, everything pretty much works. I am the first to admit that I prefer comic book films to be dark and have a serious tone. GOTG is the exact opposite, it's tone is goofy and it doesn't take itself seriously whatsoever. It fully embraces it's fun & goofiness and that's why I loved it so much. The majority of…
Star-Lord: "You said it yourself, bitch. We're the Guardians of the Galaxy."
The movie has humor, great VFX, lovable characters, a great story, and one of the best soundtracks ever. If you have never seen this movie PLEASE watch it ASAP.

It's only been four days and I'm already tired of arguing with people about Guardians Of The Galaxy. So I say fuck this movie right in its 92% Rotten Tomatoes-approved-fresh ass. Sorry, does that offend you? Here you go, here's the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack to listen to while you read the rest of the review; apparently that can make everything better.
People like to criticize Hollywood for making the same movie over and over again. Apparently some of those same people happily line-up for Marvel films that literally do that exact thing. Guardians Of The Galaxy is the upteenth Marvel film about a [blank] that can destroy the universe, which [blank] tries to obtain, so [blank] must stop them. Fucking…
only Marvel could make a film about a raccoon & a tree traveling through space feel so tiresomely familiar. but it's quite stylish!
Rocket isn't funny. Villain is garbage. Gunn can't shoot action. the movie wears its weirdness like a cheap costume. and yet even though this is a dreadfully dull formula with a few shiny new variable, it still works. the easy emotional chemistry pays off (less so when Rocket is like WE'RE A TEAM AND THAT'S WHY WE'RE GREAT! 87 times)... in fact, there are a bunch of almost levitational moments that are gutted by explaining them to death (the levitation-inducing gravity bit, for ironic example).
lots of slick widescreen digital compositions, but turns to mush when it moves.…
I’m pleased to say that Guardians of the Galaxy was a marked improvement over the deathly dull Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but in a year of surprisingly strong summer blockbusters I still wasn’t quite as sold on the film as others clearly have been. It was undoubtedly fun and packed with colour and character, which is exactly what I want from a film of this kind, but it remains a safe movie with meagre ambitions.
I admit that such criticisms are rather unfair for a film that does an excellent job in establishing a new franchise for a host of characters with limited public recognition. Yet there is the nagging suspicion that there is a truly great family adventure…
From the studio that brought you Iron Man, Captain America & Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy arrives as Marvel Studios' biggest gamble to date and yet, the risk pays off tremendously well as this crazy mixture of an oddball cast & an eccentric crew strikes gold for the studio in both critical & commercial departments and succeeds as an immensely enjoyable, extremely entertaining & most satisfying Marvel piece since The Avengers.
Set in a galaxy far far away, Guardian of the Galaxy concerns a notorious scavenger who finds himself as the main target of a manhunt after stealing a mysterious orb and is put in prison along with a deadly assassin, a genetically-engineered raccoon & a tree-like humanoid where they encounter a brute looking for…
The Outlaw with a mask. The Double Agent with her own personal mission. The Literal Speaking Wrestler with vengeance pouring through his veins. The Talking Raccoon who has no idea he's actually a talking raccoon. The Tree with a large vocabulary. Who are they? Would you believe they're the Guardians of the Galaxy?
This was the first MCU movie I watched. My original review for GoTG is one of my personal favorites. I was excited to revisit. Have my feelings for the movie changed? Not too much. In fact, I pretty much covered all I wanted to cover in my original review. So, in this review, I'm picking out a few new key elements I want to focus on.
Chris…
imagine being quill when he finally opened the present and saw awesome mix vol 2 and realised he’s spent at least 26 years listening to the same songs over and over again when he had a whole other collection in a drawer on his ship. i’d crack a window and scream into the open galaxy
p.s. I love this film so so so fuckin much!!!
p.p.s SO FUCKIN MUCH!!!!
mcu rewatch 9/23
the love the guardians so much it’s actually insane!! gamora and nebula r my favorites, i love them
Tava na minha lista há eras, aproveitei o Disney+. Demora um pouquinho a engrenar, mas quando engata é muito bom. É o filme do MCU com mais personalidade, pela trilha e os diálogos.
“She has no idea. If I had a black light, the place would look like a Jackson pollack painting.”
peter quill = pretty okay character
chris pratt = absolute bigot
gamora = could step on me
groot = the STAR
