愛我就讓我快樂, Счастье
It's like unintentionally burping mid-conversation.
It's like having to go to the bathroom really badly while you're stuck in traffic.
It's like walking in on your parents while they're doing the nasty.
It's like misreading an invitation and mistakenly thinking you're going to a costume party.
It's like watching porn with your grandparents.
And I love every single second of it.
"I'm not laughing AT you. I'm laughing WITH you."
"But I'm not laughing."
Is it fucked up that I laughed my way through all of this?
Is it fucked up that I think the line "I'm champagne. YOU'RE shit!" is the greatest way to tell off your ex I've ever heard?
Is it fucked up that I thought that scene of the kid asking his dad "What does cum mean?" is the strangest and funniest thing I've seen in a movie?
Is it fucked up that I think the Russian Guy is one of the coolest motherfuckers put on screen?
And when Philip Seymour Hoffman came on the wall...I puked a little.
Seriously, don't eat while watching this. I'll never…
Dylan Baker gives one of the most undervalued
performances of the 20th century in this marvel.

Happiness, where are you?
I've searched so long for you.
Happiness, what are you?
I haven't got a clue.
Happiness, why do you have to stay
So far away... from me?

{Bill} I wake up happy, feeling good... but then I get very depressed, because I’m living in reality.
FINDING HAPPINESS CAN BE A TRAGIC COMEDY.
Well this was an experience. From the title you would think that something happy would happen but it never did. Instead, you end up watching an interconnected tale of miserable (and horrid) characters trying to find ways to not be sad. I understand that this was meant to be dark and grim, but some of the scenes were way too disturbing for me to actually enjoy the movie as a whole. If cringing for 2 hours and 20 min sounds fun, be my guest.
My first Todd Solondz film and I'm not sure when I'll be mentally prepared to venture into another one of his - although I'm still very intrigued to at some point. Happiness is one of the most uncomfortable, shocking (in the 'I-can't-believe-it-just-went-there' kind of way) and disconcerting drama/darkest-kinda-comedy-possible films I've seen in quite some time, if not ever. Holy shit.
And, once again, I am left amazed by another fantastic performance from Philip Seymour Hoffman. He was one of the absolute best around. May he rest in peace.
TOP 10 MOST FUCKED MOMENTS IN CINEMA HISTOY ( FULL KILLCOUNT ) ( ENDING EXPLAINED) (THIS WILL SHOCK YOU)(YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS)
Jane adams was really cute in this. really funny movie and maybe too on the nose about its humour with really clear set ups and punchlines. A little bit of shaggy dog humour i guess, because it tends to pull you along with things meant to disturb you or break you down for the punchlines. Possibly about time travel. A lot of good good lines. pretty iconic and visually strong. A sense of its own reality and mythology and feels really alien and comically inverted to a point that shouldntve worked with me with its gross indie comic…
A film featuring significantly uncomfortable subject matter that completely sticks with you long after it's over. The acting and directing is beyond excellent and Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance is tremendous.
Happiness is by turns hilarious, sickening and wholesome, with all three of those elements often co-existing at the exact time on screen.
just as disgusting at 27 as it was when i first saw it at 15. i feel lucky that there's still some things out there in this life that i can depend on.
please enjoy this french synth punk song called "happiness" by cheveu where the singer recites a monologue from the movie in his best psh impression:

Pedophile, weird deviant sexuality and loneliness.
Happiness is disturbing to the extreme but it’s one of the funniest film I’ve ever seen. With numerous amazing cringy dialogue scenes, perfect editing and acting. It’s a strange but fun watch that can’t be compared. It’s also a great study of customs of the middle class.
I think we're all aware of how uncomfortable this film is so I won't dwell on that.
The most impressive thing about Happiness is how I think it's a great film despite how strongly I feel like I shouldn't say that.
