Oh. My. God.

I have a headache, but it's the best headache I've ever had.

Some striking imagery and fleeting moments of beauty can’t stop the film feeling every second of its 169-minute run time, and then some. It’s a film that will undoubtedly enthral many and its ambition and lack of blockbuster action is admirable but I felt rather numb and disinterested by the whole journey. Suffering from an abundance of expository dialogue (and not just for the science bits) and lethargic pacing its opening two hours were partially saved by its fine cast and occasional abstract beauty (Hoyte Van Hoytema effortlessly filling Pfister’s shoes).

For a film that is so rooted to the relationships forged by parents and their children it was hard to feel any real connection to the characters whilst Nolan seems ill-suited to delivering the overwhelming sentimentality that all but destroys the final act. It is this closing and seemingly interminable act that will prove the most divisive and sadly its attempts at profundity came crashing back to earth.

my relationship with my dad is the most important one in my life, hands down. and this movie always strikes a chord deep inside, so emotionally heavy that i feel it might break, but in a cathartic kind of way. i’m glad i can always rely on it to fall back on when i need to, just like i can rely on him

I'm pretty sure no one will EVER come close to being as talented as Hans Zimmer is, also I would kill 10 people just to see this in theaters.

My dad died when I was sixteen. He was my best friend & the most extraordinary person I’ve ever known. The last conversation we ever had involved me holding his hand in a hospital room. One of the final things he gave me was his watch. I wear it every day. Needless to say, “because my dad promised me” makes me full on weep every time.

Currently applying to grad schools so I can spend more time/resources than I have at the moment and have more space than this Letterboxd box to write about the global demand for stories about space, dimensions, and human survival from 2013 to 2016. 

Key questions driving my research:
- what stopped the demand for these stories?
- does this have a relation to global conflicts and how aware the human population is of them based on news coverage?
- what was the conversation around saving our planet and natural resources from 2010-2016?
- is this more of a pursuing a masters in cultural anthropology thing or me getting more familiar with how to use Reddit thing?

Probably my 24th rewatch. Still the goat. Granted the first 45 minutes are a bit slow, everything beginning from the wave planet on is a 15/10.

Nolan’s Masterpiece. His own 2001. The best Sci-Fi movie of the 21st century.

by far one of the greatest, most powerful films I've seen. Nolan's beyond exceptional cinematography paired with the intensity of this intriguing, not to mention- perceptive, storyline makes this one of the best films ever. McConaughey and Hathaway's "stellar" acting brings it all together. I was amazed, surprised, captivated and inspired all at once, what a beauty.

i could never begin to explain what this film did to me. It’s been months since I’ve last seen it and sometimes I still stare at the ceiling in awe.
