When home invasion goes wrong - right from the beginning. Ich musste eben 3 Minuten sehr laut lachen. Was das über mich aussagt, weiß ich nicht. Aber der Grund dafür ist echt gut gemacht.

This is about 2 minutes of setup for 4 minutes of a constant blood spray, and I’m very ok with that.

Chainsawktober: Short #5

An appropriate watch for today, I would've gone with the creepy Venetian, Eyes Wide Shut shit, myself tho.

Fantastic, hilarious and wastes no time getting to the good stuff!

Having originally seen this short at the Horrible Imaginings Film Festival in San Diego last year, I was thrilled to see this become a Vimeo Staff Pick. Its spoken comedy hits well, but it's physical comedy is what makes this a winner in my books. The hilariously over the top gore of this rather slapstick horror short makes this film stand so far out from the pack that I personally claim it to be an instant classic. Watching it for the second time, I appreciate its comedy now more so than before, knowing its comedic beats by heart(ooooh, awesome pun). Check it Out Here.

Short slice of comedic horror set on Thanksgiving!
Based off a recommendation by @Kev, Invaders is a funny, creepy little short film that deals with two bumbling home invaders planning to break in a house on Thanksgiving while the family inside is preparing for dinner. What ensues is just too ridiculous to spoil; this is one of those shorts you wish they extended into a full-fledged theatrical movie. Surprisingly bloody and unexpected, yet kind of idiotic also.

Straight and to the point--two potential home invaders can barely get their shit together, and when they get to the house they're all thumbs....

The two leads have a good banter written for them, and they deliver it well which puts the short in solid territory from the start. It stays in solid territory once it delivers its main joke and gets the hell out before the punchline gets stale.

Not overly exceptional, but a short that doesn't get too excited over itself and its idea is always appreciated.

Short, but to the point, this is basically just one gore gag done well.

Funny robbery-gone-wrong comedy horror.

Two thieves bungle a holiday home invasion.

Mostly smirks & chuckles but still pretty cute.

This is a well made flick - as someone that just recently made a short film, it is easily seen the amount of work that went into this five minutes. 

An impressive looking mini movie with a decent payoff that will most likely end with ya going, HA.

January Shorts 06:

Kinda cool subversion of the masked people commit graphic murder over classical music shtick. Got some cool visuals, lovely colour, great energy and editing.
It's a bit surreal, and you have two real strong characters in such a short film length which is well done.

Unfortunately it feels way too caught up on its funny gore, and that surrealism is so one sided that it comes across as just random = funny.
I think a good connection to the family inside, be it to one of the two guys, or establishing the whole family as bizarre weirdos would warrant the overreaction as well as the rest of the weird shit.

Especially for like 5 mins or whatever it is, good shit

Really good horror short to watch on Friday 13th on my phone in the staff room during my ten minute lunch break. Just as the filmmaker would have wanted.
