Logan might be the greatest comic book man movie ever made. I compare Logan's journey to an aging gunfighter, all in for one more showdown with the devil. From the opening scene, you know why this movie had to be a hard-R. This is how you make an R-rated comic book man movie. This is how you make an action movie. This is how you go out like a boss. The way this year is going, 2017 is shaping up to be one of the most awesome years in action cinema, and the good news, it's only March.

"In The Wolverine (2013) (also directed by James Mangold), Logan's travel companion Yukio predicted that Logan would die with his chest ripped open, and his heart in his hand. Although this ultimately didn't happen in The Wolverine, many fans point to the fact that she may have been predicting his death in Logan: Wolverine laying down with his chest ripped open, holding the hand of his daughter (his flesh and blood, and therefore his symbolic 'heart'). Mangold later confirmed the notion via Twitter."

I’d say it’s a toss up between this movie and Birds of Prey for best Superhero movie ever made. Old Man Logan was already a great story but this adaptation is so much better it’s just a truly amazing send off for both Wolverine and Xavier. I really hope the MCU brings Dafne Keen back as X-23 it would be a shame for this to be her only performance of this character, regardless of how absolutely amazing it was.

An old dude takes his bald ass handicapped friend and a little girl across the country all while some pedo scientist and his Mexican militia try to track them down and kill them.
Definitely one of the best marvel/Disney films to come out of that era when they were spittin out mcu movies 5 times a year like it was nothin. 4/5.

I really enjoyed logan, it gave a unique taste to the whole Comic Book Movie thing, It tells a really good story, and ever i was hooked and im not a huge fan of the X-Men. The visuals were stunning aswell, it follows an incredible story of Logan and puts a unique spin on a solo movie.

The acting is phenomenal and once again Hugh Jackman gives an amazing Performance.

Overall 4/5 - Amazing Comic Book Movie.

So what's the big deal about this movie? I really don't get why it is that highly regarded. The typical sprawling set pieces of most super hero movies are replaced with violence, curse words and oscar-bait drama, but all of these elements just feel as calculated and artificial as the design of it's genre comrades. And in the end it still it is the same finale where a guy has to fight his evil alternative persona. Seen it thousand times before. And much more entertaining. Maybe not as dramatic on a human level, but let's not make Logan deeper than it actually is. But what made the film a big bore to me, was that it is also just conservatively made. Not in a political sense, but regarding it's directing. Film making in 2017 can be so much more interesting.
