Metropolis, a 1927 German science-fiction silent drama film, directed by Fritz Lang, written by Thea von Harbou in collaboration with Lang, starring Gustav Fröhlich, Alfred Abel, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, and Brigitte Helm, produced by Erich Pommer, remains one of the most recognized sci-fi movie till date.
