I'd rather someone leave flowers or chocolates instead of body parts on my doorstep but that's just me. Now here's the thing, I love bad 80s slashers but there's a limit and nothing can justify how pointless this was. Boring, not a single interesting character, tedious dialogue and acting. I could give the music a pass but it just felt like a Halloween rip-off.
Late 80’s low budge slasher and a blatant rip off of John Carpenter's Halloween (surprised there wasn't a lawsuit with the music!) that hits every beat you’d think it would—and I don’t think that’s a bad thing!!!! I have a soft spot for these regional (in this case, Oklahoma) slasher jams.... there’s something about these late 80’s Halloween and TCM ripoffs I find charming—like some weirdo comfort movie blanket that’ll fit a 4am ‘I can’t sleep’ double bill with something like Slaughterhouse or The Night Brings Charlie. The kills are ok (bed kill in particular), the j-carp rip-off soundtrack is kinda neat, and lastly that VHS box art is pretty dope.
I can’t believe this got a 4K remaster lmao.
This is a massive ball of craptastic fun. A few watches later and I still can't get over just how much it's a blatant rip of Halloween right down to at times near identical music and at others sounding like a kid learning to play the Halloween theme. I don't know whether to boo or applaud at the brazen cheek of it all haha.
So...a guy breaks out of a mental hospital and proceeds to stalk a girl and kill her friends. Does that sound familiar?
This has got to be the most blatant rip-off of Halloween I have ever seen. The story is obviously similar but it’s the music that’s the most shameless rip. Like, it’s one or two notes away from being a complete copy of John Carpenter’s famous theme. Even the killer (who doesn’t wear a mask) somehow somehow manages to bear a resemblance to Michael Myers. Still, it actually wasn’t awful. I mean, it wasn’t that good but I’ve certainly seen worse...although that awesome VHS cover art is definitely the best thing about this.
The acting is enjoyably bad. The…
G. Michael Smith's portrayal of the heavy set town sheriff totally steals this no budget slasher away from the fetchingly fit but forgettable final girl played by Loretta Leigh Bowman. Evidently neither co-star really left much of a mark on the genre, but that ominous score certainly sounded familiar. Kudos for having the balls to sample the master so brazenly. I can never really recommend a boobless slasher, especially one made in the eighties. For shame. 5.2/10
Offerings is a Halloween ripoff in which the killer is given a backstory with a shitty white trash childhood where he kills animals and gets bullied by the other kids. Then he gets harassed by the staff in the mental institution prior to escaping and returning home for his killing spree. Are we sure Rob Zombie didn't accidentally remake this instead of Halloween?

Stretch Goal #2: 150
Film 145/150
Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
Watched for the Crap Movie Collective.
I knew what I was in for as soon as I heard the theme song.
It kind of is, but it's kind of not. It is far more slasher than the movie this one may or may not be ripping off. As well as has an interesting slasher twist with the idea that the killer gives body parts as gifts to the only person who wasn't a dick to him.
And that is a really cool idea. Too bad this movie is a poorly acted, poorly paced, poorly shot slog.
Most of the kills are too dark to really see any good gore.
You know instead of Halloween, let some of these modern film makers take a crack at this good idea poor execution.
Always liked this movie even though it’s a bit of a Halloween ripoff. A young boy is bullied by the kids in the neighborhood, except for one little girl who shows some kindness towards the outcast. Even this kids mother is an asshole. So probably not a great home life on top of everything else.
During a bullying incident, the boy falls down a well. Years later, his bullies are killed off one by one and certain body parts appear to be “gifted” to the girl who showed him kindness when they were kids.
Thats pretty much the gist of it... just your typical revenge slasher. Nothing groundbreaking here. Although, I did feel kinda sorry for this poor SOB for a minute, lol.
The most blatant Halloween ripoff I’ve seen yet (and I’ve seen a few). I’ve definitely seen worse though, and there are some redeeming lines that make it makeshift-enjoyable. The ending is fairly underwhelming, but I mean so was the rest of it, so.
Very much a John Carpenter's Halloween ripoff, but Still manages to be charming in its own way, plus that VHS box art is pretty dope.
Offerings is an excellent and enjoyable entry in the slasher genre that most fans of low-budget, badly acted, cult movies will love it. It has some fun kill scenes and good atmosphere. Even though the characters are underdeveloped, they are fun to watch. Unlike like other slashers of the time, there is no nudity in this film and knocked the rating down a 1/2 star. Overall, if you are a fan of cheesy, low budget horror flicks, you have a good chance of enjoying this one.
