my dude Peter wanted to end the pilot on a high note with some serious toe sucking

I can't believe that this is almost 30 years old. Working with only a mere 12 minutes, the pilot for Æon Flux provides an unbelievable amount of worldbuilding, all without containing any discernible dialogue, which is a feat in and of itself. On top of that, its animation is violent, futuristic, erotic, and psychedelic, sometimes all at once.
Definitely ahead of its time.

Although its animation and visuals are unique and notable, I actually found Æon Flux the most thought-provoking as an exploration of sympathy.
The central character (the BDSM Betty Spaghetti known as Æon Flux,) isn’t necessarily sympathetic, or even defined; she is not a hero or anti-hero, but a person. The soldiers she fights and the targets she’s after are equally mysterious and multi-faceted; receiving their own range of surprisingly intimate human beats.
I haven’t seen the rest of the series, but I can guess this is one of those CCTV dystopias.
-Oh wait oh no I don’t have to guess I just remembered I’ve seen that Charlize Theron version-
Anyway, none of these characters are putting on a show, but we…

I will need to rewatch this. Foot licking paradise is a bit of an odd conclusion though I'll allow it

I haven't seen the live action version of this, however, after seeing this I don't see how anyone could possibly attempt to bring this into live action without having it be bad.

Went into season three thinking dialogue might be detrimental to show's weirdness, but in fact, things just got weirder. As horny as ever, the entire series could be read as a metaphor for the dynamics of a dom/sub relationship but on a geopolitical scale. Lots of parallels to modern sociopolitical issues, almost eerily so. The last episode is basically the last episode of Raised by Wolves. I don't know how the hell someone could make a movie out of this series, but let's find out.

Season 2, in which Æon Flux dies at the end of every episode, which is pretty hilarious. Really ramps up the horniness at the expense of the ultra violence, but still incredibly weird and engaging. Captivating sense of world building and wonder, but it feels like something is lacking, just a smudge. Onward.

Seems to be this letterboxd page for this show is only for the original 12 minute pilot, which is also the first season of the show, but I'll probably log a review for each season when I finish them (the show is 4 hours in total, probably won't take too long).
Not entirely sure why I decided to rewatch this, or any of the other Liquid Television programs like The Maxx and The Head, both I have in my queue, but I'm happy I did. This is so much weirder, and hornier, and more violent than I could have ever remembered or imagined. Bold, almost audacious execution. Some of the most provocative imagery found in what is still technically American amination, the end is wild. Wasn't planning on marathoning this, but to be watched as treats between other things; most likely gonna go back on that now.
Pretty great.

One of the best animated shows ever made. I could say more, but words wouldn't do justice. Seeing is believing.
