My sister was rewatching this for the hundredth time last night (for some reason, I don't get why she never watches anything she HASN'T seen) and I couldn't not drop in.
It's so terrible on so many levels. The screenplay is hokey and eye-rolling, the child actors are cringe-inducing, and it falls into all the same corny traps as every cheap comedy this side of 2004.
But somehow I can't hate it. The heart is really strong, there's a scene that genuinely makes me cry, Billy Crystal is actually funny, and it nails that millennial child/grandparent dynamic better than I've seen many movies actually do it. A really sappy, lazy comedy, but I enjoy myself every time my little sister inexplicably starts streaming it.
