Great period show. The acting is strong and the costumes are excellent. Impressive sets as well, with buildings ranging from huge 18th century mansions to shabby country homes. The cinematography, though simple, tells the story well. As far as story goes, the writing gets a solid GOOD from me. I’m guessing that this is due to the fact the show is based off a series of novels. The story definitely seems character driven and it isn’t afraid to wrench the audience’s heart by letting its lead characters make stupidly flawed mistakes. The show gets a 2 1/2 star rating from me because, despite the things it does well, the side plots tend to take over for episodes at a time and can bore the audience.

Romance dans les Cornwall à la fin du 18ème siècle. Rien que ca on sait deja que c'est minimum 4 étoiles. Et c'est pas raté. Simple et efficace comme on aime. Une émotion intense durant 5 saisons.

Way too easy to binge watch in the best way.

I watched Poldark in the span of two weeks exactly and now that I have finished it I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The character development through the five seasons was AMAZING, it had me feeling all sorts of different emotions and I absolutely LOVED it.

Not much happens to be honest, and the cheesiness of the characters sometimes makes it hard to follow the whole story. However the way the serie is linked to what is going on historically on that century makes it really interesting.
