This movie definitely was not made for someone like me, but I found it on Netflix and was honestly curious to watch the only other film that stars Michael Jai White and Byron Minns that wasn't Black Dynamite (2009). It's basically a semi-sappy Christian soap, but the performances were nice, and the duo made for believable relatives.
BUT, two days later, I went to a Black Dynamite DVD signing, and I told Byron Minns that I saw this movie, and that I thought it was nice. And he was astonished and yet super graceful and thanked me for checking it out, and then he looked over at Michael Jai White and said, "Hey, this man watched Somebody's Child.", and White, who looked very busy and concentrated while signing, looked up and did a double-take and had a quiet confused laugh to himself and just went back to signing stuff.
