The great tragedy of Kevin Feige is that, beyond raking in a mountain of cash as the head of Marvel Studios, he truly wants to be seen as an impresario of artists. The recent dust-up caused by Martin Scorsese staring holes through Disney's stunt-casting of noteworthy emerging filmmakers to lend clout to a method of filmmaking dictated by studio notes and franchise bible supervisors punctured this self-delusion and prompted a wave of pathetic self-defensiveness in which the CEO was called to stand up for the manager. In spite of it all, though, Feige's sincere belief that he is creating lasting art makes him a sympathetic figure, so earnest that he cannot see the extent to which he has helped to…

And thus concludes the Star Wars saga (for now). This is a boring mess of a film. It's not any worse then the other two entries in the Disney trilogy, with TFA being the nostalgia corporate cash grab it was, and TLJ going out of its way to deconstruct, distort, and destroy much of what makes Star Wars what it is. TRoS pretends TLJ didn't exist, and the whole trilogy just falls apart all at once.

I loathe TLJ, and although there may be some genuine fans who just enjoy it, most 'fans' of that film are pseudo-intellectuals who think that it's like the avant-garde masterpiece of the Star Wars franchise just because it tried to flip or rewrite all…

During the recording sessions for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, producer George Martin was looking for a way to create a truly carnival-like atmosphere for the organ section in the middle of John Lennon's song "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite." To achieve it, he told recording engineer Geoff Emerick to cut up the tape into small pieces and toss them into the air like Lucy shuffling cards in Peanuts. Then they spliced the random pieces back together again. It worked perfectly for the song as the point was to create a chaotic sound rather than a unified whole.…

Seit meiner Kinosichtung dieses Filmes hatte ich keine Lust mehr auf Star Wars. Die letzte Trilogie hat mir zu stark das Vertrauen genommen, dass Disney noch gute Gesamtgeschichten hinbekommt in meinem geliebten Universum. Und dann haben viele Stimmen aus dem Freundeskreis mich überzeugt, dem Mandalorian eine Chance zu geben. Ich muss gestehen, das war es wert, die Chance hat er sich redlich verdient. Nach den beiden Staffeln bin ich mehr als zufrieden und das schöne, wohlige Star Wars Gefühl ist zurück.
