Steve McQueen: la esencia de lo cool
Good documentary, retrospective feature on the great actor Steve McQueen, this is an interesting but ultimately imperfect feature on the iconic actor. I think it<s a good introduction to those that want to learn a bit about him, but it is far from the definitive portrait of the actor. As it is, it's an interesting feature, but it feels as if something is missing to really make it a solid documentary. It's an interesting feature, but most of the time it's just fans and fellow actors that gloss over at how great he was, and it never goes beyond that, really.
It's an interesting retrospective on McQueen, but it feels incomplete. I Am Steve McQueen is the more comprehensive documentary…
Nothing like as good as the other documentary on the Bullitt Blu-ray disc, dealing with film editing but this is just about worth a look. From the title you would imagine this is a great celebration of a great charismatic and cool guy but that just isn't the way it turns out. All the usual suspects say all the usual things except for his first wife Neile Adams, who is great throughout and Dickie Attenborough who is sycophantic and boring throughout, what a terrible man hiding beneath such a gentle facade. Mr Cool himself, who insinuated himself into scenes that weren't intended for him and passed on dialogue he felt he couldn't deal with (while he was concentrating on looking…

Good documentary about one of my favorite actors of all time, although I think, they still could have done way better.

Originally made for TCM, this documentary was included on the Blu-Ray release of Bullitt and goes film by film through his career, with plenty of interviews with two of his 3 wives, his son, and friends and actors. I've never been that huge of a McQueen fan and while an interesting look at his life, it did nothing to really change my opinion.
