When General Zod and his Dominatrix Trio hit Manhattan, there’s a moment when he goes mano a mano with Superman. First, Zod throws Superman into (and through) the side of a Marlboro truck. Then, Superman launches him into the Times Square Coca Cola sign.
Later, when Superman does his cheat code flying backwards circles around the earth thing, it shows the Coca Cola sign being un-smashed, but not the Marlboro truck being un-smashed. How much more did the Coca-Cola product placement cost than the Marlboro product placement? Why do I care?
This is a four star movie for me cause I grew up with it, and I love the way Sarah Douglass says, “Here, Superman!” when she flicks a manhole cover at him like it’s a Frisbee. I try not to take it too seriously. It’s not as good as the first one, but the camp makes up for it!
