Loved when Switchblade Sisters features black clad leather chapeau denim on denim fierce femmes gunning down men in the streets like awful sweat-drenched hogs. Too bad these Jezebels spend most of the movie fighting over a scumbag rapist.  More girl gang sisterhood of blood and chains domineering crooked dick lunkheads in a torrent of violence and hate please!  I wanted to watch that scene where Maggie presses her blade against a husky dude's face and makes him squeal 293847474828282737477474 more times. Same when she spits venom at a cop through knife fight blood and hissing rage. And when she shoots assault weapons with a pseudo Angela Davis and her militant clan. Dang the last half of this movie was FIRE!

For many years I used this and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls as an accurate gauge of whether a young woman was serious girlfriend material or not. (Barbarella is assumed.)

Despite all of the life and death stakes in the action, the big DRAMA is rooted in the friendships and relationships of the teen women. This could be Mean Girls or "My So Called Life" or something along those lines save for the knife fights and gun battles and Shakespearean power plays, but there ya go: that's what makes this movie so damn special.

Girl Gang! What more do you need to know you gotta see a movie?

The Dagger Debs ain't playin - not even with each other with their leader Lace bitchslapping around Donut, they're being pimped on school property, they're pulling knives left and right, and they're wearing the fuck out of jeans and boots.

Watched with the Rendezvous Crew last night and we discussed how we need a gang name, and since the leader of the rival gang is named Crabs I think we settled on Crabs as our gang name. lol idk it's fun to use in context, "Can't, I've got crabs tonight."

This starts strong, has a bit of a lull but you know just gaze at the great clothes and giggle at the funny lines, and then when the gang war ensues it's a real blast! Machine gun teenagers with tanks! And the catfight at the end is something I've never seen the likes of!

If it weren't for the homophobic confrontation in the prison and the rape that was brushed off, this woulda been a great, almost feminist exploitation flick.

Whoa, savage. Switchblade Sisters a.k.a. The Jezebels; an odd one. Too tame for an exploitation movie, too awkward for a high school drama and too feeble for a crime thriller, but somehow fun anyway. Maybe it's because of the fight with the evil lesbian warden. That old hag is belly bumping the Dagger Debs all over the place. Or because of Maggie, who is hot and tough at the same time. The western like shoot-out at the roller rink is a highlight too and things gets completely out of hand when Muff and her Mao quoting gang members join the street war. Not really sure in what city this takes place, but at some point it looks like Beirut in the eighties. Also noteworthy is the final fight, with the shadows. Nice touch. Lesson? Jealousy will get you killed, girls.

Apesar de retratar cenas de estupro, tráfico de drogas e prostituição, e de lidar com temas importantes como empoderamento feminino e movimento negro, Switchblade Sisters o faz como se estivesse brincando com bonequinhos, através de diálogos bregas, atuações exageradas, e um monte de tiros e explosões. O que torna o filme divertidíssimo, mas não nos ajuda a levá-lo a sério. Por isso, é surpreendente que, em seu terceiro ato, em vez de cair totalmente no ridículo, ele explore as dinâmicas entre as personagens femininas de forma tão instigante. Há um certo tom agridoce deixado ao final da projeção, quando percebemos que as brigas entre as mulheres são todas fruto de um universo patriarcal que as joga umas contra as outras.

Jack Hills really knows how to make exploitations, I'm starting to understand that. Here we have a feminine-Clockwork-Orange-gang thing going on, raging on men and everything that appears in front of them. But fr, the best thing about these movies are the soundtracks, man, they never fail.

Bunny es la mejor Jezabels. No tenía problemas con ninguna, aceptó a Maggie e igual se preocupó por Lace. Nunca tomo un bando cuando empezaron los problemas y todo lo hacía por el bien de las chicas. Incluso con la escena final se sentía destrozada por lo que pasaba

to puto. isso é tão divertido tenso pra caralho em momentos que se não fosse um carinho enorme nem fariam sentido, quando as jezebels surgem o filme só vai melhorando e crescendo de energia. o grande problema é esse arco machista pra caralho em que não coloca em nenhum momento um estuprador como errado. eu não queria que isso estragasse o filme por que eu to a uns quatro anos pra assisti-lo e minhas expectativas eram enormes só que mesmo não sendo da forma mais saudável o filme consegue superar isso e meu deus, que tempo maravilhoso eu gastei com esse filme. e ah, não machuquem a donut essa mulher merece carinho e compreenção.

Super fun film filled with entrancing performances. Need to see more of Jack Hill's stuff.

So hilarious, so trashy, and so utterly enjoyable that it truly must be seen to be believed.

Has a dorky exploitation charm but the acting is so terrible and not in an endearing way. Patch was cool tho

C'est un peu Mean Girls sur fond de délinquance juvénile. Les gangs de gars prennent d'abord trop de place, alors que les personnages les plus intéressants sont clairement Maggie, Lace et bien sûr Patch, mais les filles prennent éventuellement le dessus, avec même une alliance avec un gang de femmes noires, dans un bel élan d'intersectionnalité. Le troisième acte est très “Boy, that escalated quickly".

Lace sounds like Bart Simpson.

This movie fucking rocks. Girl gangs, guns, rollerblades, and switchblades.
