Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington proudly uphold the tradition of hosting the worst Oscar coverage show in history while awaiting the arrival of a legend of Old Hollywood.
The Third Annual 'On Cinema' Oscar Special, Official 3rd Annual LIVE Oscar Special
Gregg saying he would hypothetically target whoever beats The Hobbit at the Oscars if he was a member of ISIS is the funniest thing I've ever heard

Shocked to learn in this special that it was not Gregg Turkington who played a bit role in Ant-Man, but "Gregg Turkington." This means that Ant-Man, and by extension the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is actually a part of the On Cinema Universe, so I guess I'll have to watch all of them.
Few moments of pop culture in the 2010's had as big of an impact as the resurgence of James Byron Dean himself
Tim Heidecker’s performance is one of the best portrayals of addiction, guilt, and masculinity at it’s most utterly toxic since Harvey Keitel in Ferrara’s Bad Lieutenant. Just like the Keitel performance, I see the darkest parts of myself reflected in Heidecker’s outbursts and it terrifies me.
IF HE CAN’T SEE WHERE HE IS, THEN HE CAN’T TALK ABOUT WHERE HE IS
The most chaotic, malevolent entry so far. Mark Proksch’s brutally inane Three Stooges impressions are honestly a balm to the horror of Tim starting to turn a new leaf and then instantly crumbling before our eyes. He denounces God at 20 minutes in, and that’s only just the start of it.
Anyone who could turn Lot’s wife into a pillar of salt, incinerate Sodom and Gomorrah, and make it rain for forty days and forty nights has got to be a fun guy
Joe Estevez scooping Chaplain™️ brand chili out of the crock pot with a white plastic spoon is pure Harmony Korine Cinema.
I found myself trying to explain why I was howling at the reprise of Greg’s Oscar Documentary and there is no better evidence of how dense the build and layering of jokes is on this show than trying to explain a goof to a neophyte. Honestly wonderful.
Justice for Hobbit 3.
Some things I liked and other thoughts:
- Tim's attempt at redemption quickly falls apart over the course of Oscar night.
- Greg dropping the cake as soon as he shows up.
- Mark Proksch's Stooges impressions were gold.
- Seeing the return of James Deen was a real treat! What a surprise!
Gregg finally drinking after Tim starts his "Oscar Fever" reprisal is such a great moment
Best one yet. Tim drunkenly playing bass and singing to spite Mike Huckabee absolutely ruled.
The pacing of this was all over the place in comparison to the slow build of past shows but the chaotic energy was a nice twist.
I don't know what bit I like more. Tim getting Gregg to reveal who at the Oscars he would target if he was in ISIS or Tim screaming in the face of an old man who claims to be James Dean.
Is Tim Heidecker the greatest living comedian?
Whenever he freaks out on-set it's like I'm walking through the gates of heaven.
Gregg is a vision.
oscar fever stuck in my head all over again. gonna spend election day learning that sick bass line
thought it peaked with the marching band intro but then james dean told tim “you’ll be a dead man soon”
