First docu-drama by the coo-coo bananas super kitsch Unarius cult. One of the greatest cinematic achievements of all time.

Easily one of the most jaw-dropping low-budget sci-fi movies I've ever seen, a staggering achievement for something made by a couple dozen people without any studio funding.
Had the chance to see The Arrival in a theater tonight, presented by Jodi Wille and members of the Unarius Academy of Science, and I'm glad I put off watching this for so long, because seeing this big and loud in a theater was the perfect way to see it.

My first experience with the Unarius Academy of Science. Far as I can tell, they're like the followers of Edgar Cayce but with more prophets, or Scientology without the multilevel marketing and criminal conspiracies.

This absolutely 100%-true documentary tells the true story of an alien ship that visits the Earth, bringing enlightenment to a prehistoric man with a great Southern accent. Get ready for past live regression, theophany, and galactic genocide.

The special effects are worth the price of admission. Everything looks like vintage Jem and the Holograms technology, beautifully animated with bubblegum colors you'll be seeing for days.

My favorite cult-made movie so far. More fun than Battlefield Earth, less depressing than Heaven’s Gate Initiation Tape 1997. Worth tracking down.

I wonder if there is a day in a distant life when Uriel will grant me the blessing of owning this on VHS someday.

Imagine if a good-natured UFO-cult made a caveman Close Encounters of the Third Kind, then dropped a low budget Star Wars into the middle of it, and then copied the climax of 2001 except instead of the Star baby it ended with an old lady from suburban California. And this was all done with home made special effects.

This is beyond description. It's all so bright. So many neon lights. So grand. Magnificent. And creepy. And sinister. I've been brainwashed. This is my new truth and belief.

about as good as you'd expect a documentary about a ufo cult centered around reincarnation would be (it's excellent). this also might be the most secretly influential sci-fi movie of the 60s

An insanely campy and colorful cult indoctrination video, this docu-drama has awful bald caps, UFOs, and telekinetic conversations with aliens & cavemen spouting pseudo-philosophical psychobabble. Some of the light special effects were actually kind of impressive even if the costumes left a lot of desire.

This is some weird stuff, I want to check out more!

The Unarians did this all themselves working together using unique analog effects and a one of a kind synthesizer. The costumes are simply gorgeous. I went to their HQ open house where they openly explained how it was all done (along with their shows on public access television, another wonderfully egalitarian community) and they truly made movie magic! They were just inspired to create! And that, in turn, is inspiring! And as to anyone who thinks that they are nutty, their belief system which focuses on healing is far less nutty than Christianity. And kind. I had no problem sending them my money to get this DVD. More people should watch this.

The special effects look way too good for this movie just being slapped together by a handful of goofs in a sci fi religious cult who know nothing about filmmaking and are more interested in larping as aliens, cavemen, and Atlanteans.

At first I was a caveman, but then I ascended past my negative energy and became one with the cosmos.

I dont know what happened but it looked cool.

Don’t go into The Arrival expecting to laugh at its camp value or to recoil in horror at its cult indoctrination tactics. This is an overall calming, meditative piece from what appears to be a relatively harmless UFO cult who claim to have achieved a supernatural level of spiritual enlightenment and have accidentally stumbled into making primo outsider cinema as a result.
