I’m gonna use this movie because I just finished up The Boys season 1 on Amazon Prime, that shit was insane! I really loved it. I’ll be honest, the first 20-30 minutes of the first episode, I was like ehhhh, this probably won’t be for me. But then certain things started happening and the show was unraveling itself to show how crazy it was going to be and I was so on board by the end of the episode. This is one of those shows where each episode just got better and better. I really feel like The Boys (aside from like infinity war and endgame) is almost a breath of fresh air for the superhero genre. It’s totally unpredictable…

I hated this film in high school. It was a distillation of the small French town where I lived as a teenager: The prevalence of hockey as a way of life, the neverending macho posturing, the prevalence of sexism and gay panic everywhere. Most personally, I loathed being forced to speak the French language every day, in that slang-riddled way its Canadian branch, and Les Boys only encourage that behaviour. It was everywhere! Four sequels, a prequel film and TV series that has five seasons and counting! I didn't live in Quebec, but Franco-Ontario is essentially Quebec's angrier little cousin. We absorbed all of Quebec's culture, but we were never really included. People just assumed if you spoke…
I love this show.
remember that one time where the flash ran right through a girl and she turned into a road juice.
Hey, wait a minute.....................THIS...This isn't............... This isn't the Mighty Ducks
Les 4 étoiles sont purement par plaisir coupable, ce film a mal vieilli.
Mais c'est un film de hockey, donc 4 étoiles.

Les Boys can be seen as the Quebec version of Slapshot, it's a hockey film for guys. Each Monday a bunch of men join other men in a beer league Hockey team called Les Boys. This is a pretty film unlike those dreadful seperatist advocating Pierre Falardeau films, Elvis Gratton. These movies despite being quite crude and vulgar have something that other films in Quebec cinema are missing out on, Class. This film doesn't deal with politics of any sort and is pure enjoyment. A wild crazy film of a bunch of guys with totally different backgrounds playing hockey. Les Boys is a prime example of a Quebec comedy that illuminates the idea of using the issue of the separation of Quebec as a plot device for comedy. Most films in that province use that issue as a plot device and in the end it gets fucking tiring. Les Boys is different its a smart and fun comedy.
Holyshit i loved season one it was soooo good especially the end i swear that fucking fly has to mean something
Le monologue du 'mental' hold up. Lacting de stan 100. Pat huard dans la 2eme moitié. Du sexisme lourd. Guy Jodoin gros yikes. La grosse scène de bar est quand même cool, d'une longueur quand même impressionnante.
Did you know the only place in the world where Titanic has never been number one at the box office is the province of Québec? Yes, it came out at the same time as Les Boys !

Some noticable length and pacing issues, but it was just a fun movie. This was important for starting a film movement in Quebec, but it felt like another hockey movie with fun characters.
I love this show.
