honestly? not gay enough! i just want a gay teen witch movie is that too much to ask for
i don’t know how but this movie is both extremely dated and bad, and underrated as fuck. the last scene almost ruins it, but it’s still so damn good. it deserves a remake. and i know they’re doing one but i want a crazy, almost artful one. i want Suspiria High.
God, the final act of this movie is truly so bad. But I still want to restate my desire to see an artsy remake a la Suspiria. Thank you.
if the bitches of eastwick put a spell on me, do not prosecute them they caught ME slipping that’s on ME
when that bitch is super racist at the beginning and you just know immediately that they're gonna fuck her up later....love it
I had never heard of this movie until the sequel was announced so I thought I'd check it out. I watched this before the sequel luckily.
I can see why it is such a cult classic and I loved it however. There are so many flaws to this film. The second act is very lackluster as they begin to learn how to do magic. I thought of giving up until shit got dark really fast with Nancy. And I thought that was the selling point. Of this movie. Just Nancy in general
I really didnt bother to care about the other 2 or the lead (who used that spell on that boy. Is plain wrong.) they were written poorly but…

i'm sorry but every time i watch this i hate it a little more
girl witches need 2 be empowering and not institutionalized tbh tbh
but the first however many minutes, until "we're the weirdos, mister" and then that racist bitch goes bald, that's rly good stuff, and also skeet ulrich dying because he's gross and i don't want any of that
the following day, snakes started manifesting in my house physically
i can't help but be fascinated by female rage and all the varied ways it's portrayed on film. all four of the central girls in the craft are powerful because of their anger, their rage becoming the driving force that pushes them to move beyond the circumstances that trap them.
it's almost as if the film forces itself to punish the girls for their oh-so-justified transgressions - i can't find it in my heart to blame them for the havoc they wreak, especially since it starts with the pure joy of finding companionship and turns into the intoxicating rush of the world becoming fair at last. shouldn't they be allowed to be angry about the way the world encroaches upon…
my dad: "so you watched the craft last night?"
me: "to get me in the halloween spirit. I liked it except the ending"
amei o plot, a estética e a atuação da fairuza, só n dei 5 estrelas pq essa sarah estragou o filme mds, deveria se m, nancy lenda feminista a surra nessa sarah cup
would’ve been better with sarah michelle gellar and a heavily revised third act but also it’s a 90s teen witch comedy so automatic 4 stars
I think it’s a little unfair of the writer to frame this narrative as a “careful what you wish for” when these girls want totally normal things and are then punished for trying to achieve them. It’s essentially telling girls that they should be more satisfied with their shitty place and position in life. As if women aren’t told that enough as is.
