My kink is romcom characters telling me I'm not ordinary and NO ONE CAN SHAME ME

Nothing overly remarkable but it's sweet, earnest and funny. Tennant and MacDonald have great chemistry and look really good together (gosh, Kelly MacDonald is lovely), although I find it difficult to ever believe anyone could fall in love after just a day. (The main reason I dislike most romcoms, to be honest - I just can't get past that sort of thing). But this was fun and probably just what I needed, right now. Plus, the scenery is beautiful and Scottish accents are always nice to listen to. (Should add I had very low expectations going in which is probably why I enjoyed it so much.)

It's like if Jane Eyre was written by a scottish woman who listens to vampire weekend.

How can a movie be so good but also so horrible at the same time

if i ever rate anything david tennant is in less than a five, find me and exorcise me

david tennant and scotland are my safeplace

hated every character in this completely messy movie but at the same time i don’t think i’m capable of watching anything that requires more intellectual effort. 

(this isn’t really a review but i’m not sure anyone is truly seeking real analysis on the topic of the decoy bride so let me speak my shit)

david tennant in plaid flare pants is enough for me to like this movie just a little

“i don’t really like.... big cat... documentaries..”

this was NOT boring but GOD was it confusing and weird and hate the 1 day romance and themes but i must again emphasize that it was not boring and david tennant is refered to as "the toilet man" and he has proved to be the greatest actor of all time he forces himself to have chemistry with any given costar. we salute you for that sir

dont understand why ppl hate romcoms so much. its rlly good, if u want a cheesy feel good happy ending romcoms. i love happy endings.

my favorite movie when i was 12 and it definitely still holds up. this movie is the reason i want to live on a distant small rainy island with the love of my life

For what ever reason I just loved this movie. No matter how cheesy it was, I thought it was adorable. And the part with the old couple🥺

Part 3626272 of “I watch a rom com and it’s perfect until the last 5 minutes”. 

Can I get just one, ONE rom com that doesn’t end with a big, romantic gesture? (Though I’ll admit that Spanish Civil War joke was pretty charming.)
