“i like the train about it”
and? what else do you like about it?
“nothing”
this mothafucka be looking like a 1998 nickelodeon christmas special starring tom hanks, tom hanks, tom hanks AND tom hanks
Everybody has that film they watch on Christmas Eve religiously (no pun intended). For some it's Home Alone. For others it's Die Hard. But whilst these films are beyond excellent, I always watch The Polar Express. I think I'm in the minority here when I say that The Polar Express is my favourite Christmas film. I find that it encapsulates the feeling and the spirit that exists at this time of year like no other movie. I really connected with the young boy, facing the dilemma weather Santa is a man or a myth. We all had that moment, and just like this boy, I used to lay awake anxiously at night just to hope in hearing a noise or…
this whole movie feels like an extremely long video game cutscene . like it feels like you should be able to control it but you can’t... you just have to watch the Chaos
Though the animated looks on the established characters themselves haven't aged all that well, the rest of The Polar Express most definitely has in my book.
This was another one of those Christmas classics that I grew up with, and I certainly would say this one for sure stands tall for the most part as exactly one of those up there with many just like it.
Director Robert Zemeckis undoubtedly does a remarkably impressive job at bringing/capturing a lot of genuine Christmas joy to life here, and as always, Alan Silvestri knocks it out of the park & charmingly composes a neat little score for the film itself.
A worthwhile revisit to this in the end, I'd say.
what is polar express about?
[she closes her eyes and pretends to fall asleep]
The chick needs to stay in her seat..
The boy needs to mind his business...
The know-it-all needs slapped...
My hot chocolate is still, in fact, hot.
I wish the polar express would crash, kill santa and christmas was cancelled
Upon recent rewatching, this is a dumpster fire.
Don’t get me wrong, as a kid, I loved this film. And it’s still tolerable today. But amongst the itty-gritty or the harsh animation, the film’s open-ended plot, and the chugga-chugga of the titular Polar Express, this is just a ‘meh’ to sink your eyes into today.
If I must implore you, have a second go at this. It’s not great, but not entirely horrible either.
i dont know if ive ever seen the whole film but ive seen the first 45 minutes at least 19 times
[English] Yes, the CGI is very weird, but that doesn't mean it's a bad movie. My cousin used to watch The Polar Express five times (or more) in December. It's a magical and cute story. And to a kid, that's all that matters.
I rewatched this about a year ago and I thought it held up pretty well. This time around, not so much.
As I get older the less this film creeps me the fuck out with its creepy fucking faces. Also fuck the train guy he is so mean about tickets.
