Maybe I’m alone here but the Bart penis thing is such a chilling childhood memory. Still a pretty crazy shot. This is crazy relevant and still very funny.

My friend said he didn't like The Simpsons very much.
We put this on.
He laughed at nearly every line.
The Golden Age of the Simpsons. Wow.
"despite everything, i miss your father."
"me too. his big fat ass could shield us all."
9/10
There’s a moment in this where Bart is looking through luggage on a train, and finds a black bra in a passenger’s luggage. He then puts it on his head, and proceeds to say in a mouse voice the following: ”I'm the mascot of an evil corporation!”
Ah, how ironic all these years later.
I enjoy being a critical consumer of media, particularly film, looking at a movie from various thematic standpoints and analyzing how effective it is in its storytelling and messaging capabilities. But it's also very easy to get caught up in this more academic way of thinking and undervalue any work that isn't radically profound. Coming off of a very frustrating night, watching The Simpsons Movie made me feel so, so good. I already love all these characters from the series, and getting to spend these near 90 minutes with them was something I really needed. The one, singular purpose of film may be controversial to define, but I don't think there's any denying that a movie that lifts your spirits…
Sincerely the movie doesn’t start until Spider Pig is sung and then it’s a banger from there till the end
I think it has been a solid twelve years since I have last seen this film. It's didn't help that most of the film quotes were coming back to me slowly over time.
I understand that this is by all means not the best movie, but I can't watch it without thinking about seeing it on opening day when I was 6 years old. That's the happiest I've ever been in my life and I fully accept that I'll never be that happy again.
pretty good despite the fact that the simpsons tv show was already not that good by the time it came out
Classic movie. I think most people can agree that every season of The Simpsons up to and including the movie is good and that almost every season after was shit. Also, this film was made back when nudity was allowed in PG-rated films, so watch out for Bart’s “dingus” to make an appearance.
Absolute electricity. Homer looking through his wallet for the Alaska map and pulling out the pic of Jordan from the ‘88 dunk contest with his face taped on it. Relentless visual gags.
“There’s something strange about that Sop sign.”
“Look, we can’t keep stopping at every Sop, Yeld, or One Vay sign.”
Can not believe that the average rating for this film is 3.3??
That's fucking crazy.
Liked it less on the rewatch but maybe that’s because of my own feelings of the devolution of the characters
