One is reminded of the great Brian De Palma's claim that he could never respect a film that shows a plane landing.

Jedoch vergleichsweise unterhaltsamer Erwin-C.-Dietrich-Film mit authentischen Stadtansichten von Zürich, New York, Rom, Kopenhagen, München und Berlin, damals Füllmaterial um irgendwie auf 80 Minuten zu kommen, heute der größte Trumpf des Filmes mit samt seiner langweiligen Sex-Geschichten.

+1/2 star for all of the instances in which the English language producers felt the need to dub dialogue over characters who had their backs to the camera or were clearly not talking. The din of people with no internal monologue (though sometimes we got that too)!

+1/2 star for cutaways to random stock footage during "lovemaking" scenes. At first it seemed like they were going for sexual metaphor, but, pardon my inexperience, I'm not sure what twirling the Swiss flag is supposed to represent.

+1/2 star for the line of dialogue, "Your dialectic is unparalleled."

+1/2 star for the moment when the meathead body builder flexes his biceps and growls, "I respect the laws of nature!"

Minus all the stars for being boring and (presumably) having the bulk of the nudity excised from this cut.

Released with sexually suggestive artwork, this is actually more of a tongue-in-cheek comedy than a soft-core movie. While there is no shortage of nudity as various stewardesses engage in one night stands during their time-off, there is little physical intimacy and what exists is cheekily edited with bizarre cutaways to such randomness as cows, Swiss flags and the Swiss Alps. Some of the cutaways (certain statues) have definite connotations, but the filmmakers mostly seem keen on toying with our generic expectations with their splicing - something that the near-meta conclusion supports. The film further benefits from the casting of actresses who really seem to be having fun. There is little in the way of characterisation and plot, but this is not nearly as worthless or sleazy as it sounds with lovely travelogue footage in the mix too.

The success of the 3D softcore flick THE STEWARDESSES led to a bunch of imitations, like this Erwin Dietrich production from West Germany. It follows the same structure as the SCHOOLGIRL REPORT movies: a handful of girls featured in separate stories that chronicle their sexual adventures. The actresses are attractive for the most part, the men decidedly less so, and the humor...yeesh. It's attractively lensed by the dependable Peter Baumgartner and offers the usual travelogue footage in various countries, most of it likely captured without permits judging by the "extras" staring at the camera. I'll also wager that the English dub features about ten times as much dialogue as whenever someone's mouth is offscreen, they are invariably dribbling on about something or other. The original version has intermittent hardcore images, almost certainly missing from Hemisphere Pictures' U.S. prints.

Does the film feature stewardesses? Yes. Are they often naked? Yes. Then, it fulfills all its obligations - job well done. One complaint is the final stewardess gets with an unwashed hippy that was so annoying I thought I was going to die.

This was a strange Weird Wednesday, sparsely attended, with a mildly passive aggressive intro. So many historical locations in service of a titty film. Though the third story really picked things up with the introduction of the body-builder character, the forth segment with the socialist commune really took the cake, and then things just turned meta. This was my friend Derrick's first trip to Alamo ever, after over 10 years of me trying to get him to go.
