love how the score creates a dialogue w/ the images by being in direct opposition: while it sounds like a fun 60s sex romp we see dead bodies on the floor (rebels!), children slaughtered, citizens beaten for info etcetc and by the end the whole film doubles down on this idea: communication and understanding (e.g. of words&images) lead us to fascism/capitalism/abusive regimes and in order to rid ourselves of them we must reevaluate everything, starting with language, communication (once our protagonists become ‘activists’ they go back to the most basic forms of communication/non-communication), meaning..
