抹去重来, 未了之事
The mashup of rotoscope animation, time travel, and Better Call Saul that we've all been longing for. Recommended.
Undone is a cerebral experience. An out of body and mind experience looking upon the human condition what makes us all broken people. We try so hard to keep it together, but is there any way to change the past? Is life just an enigma?
I'll stop it with my pretentious BS. However, if you don't like pretentious BS you might want to stay away from Undone. For people who like shows that make you think a little more deeper then Friends though, continue to read this review because I think I might have discovered something for you.
This is the newest from the creator of Bojack Horseman (so the reason we didn't get a season 6 this September smh)…
B+ // 82
Beautifully animated with a stellar use of rotoscoping, while Undone suffers from many pacing issues and an anticlimactic ending, its commitment to sticking to its themes as well as an intriguing concept make it a win in my book.

Ich bleib dabei, das Rotoskopie-Verfahren bleibt der Fremdkörper.
Schade um Bob Odenkirk, der alleine ein Grund wert ist sich ein Film oder wie hier eine Serie sich anzusehen.
Cerebral, but not impenetrable. Really energetic and wonderful all around. I'm a total sucker for rotoscope and it's brilliantly utilized here.
took me 3 days to binge, and 10 mins to fall in love with. offers all the emotional turmoil, disorientating imagery and existential anxiety a guy could ask for. this is rosa salazar's world now, we're all just living in it.
2020: #109/1000
One of the worst and rushed instances of character development that I have ever seen, but god if it isn't one of the most uniquely beautifully animated things on the planet. Might warm up to it on a rewatch, but I'm pretty hesitant to even give it a six in my current mindstate.
God, to be torn between familiar ghosts and the monotonous land of the living - I felt that.
Hisko Hulsing's first long piece of media is absolutely stunning. One of the best art projects to come out of 2019 film, music, tv, or otherwise. I can't wait to see what he does next, and boy does Salazar have a mocap knack. I'd love to see her pair up with Serkis.
Bravo Amazon, bravo.
but can alita do THIS???? [melts into a timeless loop of myself growing old, turning to bones, then dust, then being reborn again as a baby until the cycles continuously repeats itself]
See? You can analyze pain and loss and mental illness without needing it to be through the lens of talking animals🤗 this was really excellent
Engrossing and Impressive.
" I'm so bored of living. I wake up every morning in the same bed, I get dressed and I eat the same breakfast and then take the same commute to work. I am 28 years old and I'm terrified this is all there is."
90/100 Is it beyond reality or is it just mental illness ?
Brilliant show, altough the ending could be perceived slightly disappointing. Still, lots magic to discover in any episode!
this is my FAVORITE show of 2019. the whole thing is like a long movie. i cannot shut up about this show oh my gosh from the rotoscoping-oil painting-3D animation-black box theater production masterpiece to the existentialism to the absolutely subjective and remarkably unclear realities it’s just perfect. seriously it’s perfect.
I am not a huge fan of rotoscope and I am not big on series but this one was around the length of a long movie and the story line intrigued me enough to give it a go. I guess I am a sucker for stories that it is not clear what is real and what is not.
It starts with a bang and draws you in and even though I was still not convinced with the animation part I pushed on genuinely intrigued. The script felt rushed at times whilst in parallel some side stories did not add much to the plot, but still there was enough there to want to take the next dose of 20 odd mins.
