My only issue with WandaVision's first few episodes is that they weren't 3 hours long
Episode 1-2
Honestly so fucking refreshing. The MCU isnt here to play around. I'd like people after watching this that still think the mcu isnt cinema to kindly shut up and get their eyes checked. This is art mama. The use of sitcom elements were pure brilliance and bliss. I was smiling like a kid who just opened their christmas gifts and got everything they wanted. I may not be the biggest elizabeth olsen fan or her wanda portrayal but I'm here 100% for vision and monica Rambou. The amount of personality they give vision after swallowing gum truly was comedy gold. Some jokes were indeed dad jokes but they all landed cause I was living for it.
However let's…
probably really interesting if you’re in middle school and just found out what existentialism is but outside of that this is a mostly lame and egotistical show that basically only exists to “prove” that the mcu can be wild and “different” but basically only achieves this by completely losing all identity and rarely feeling like it has any purpose. by the end of both episodes i was left incredibly unsatisfied as to where the show is heading and i’m left with so little information that it turns into this extremely irritating show where as soon as you think something is gonna start happening, nothing ends up happening. really don’t know if i’m gonna continue watching this. i would honestly prefer…
I don’t think I’ll ever hate anything as much as I hate the phrase “Please Stand By”
in this world of the greatest pieces of cinema i still happen to be an mcu stan, but now for the first time in my life there's nothing i could be happier about than being an mcu stan
anyway, it feels crazy that after years of waiting for this it's really happening; and it's perfect!! a trippy, surreal dream starring lizzie olsen, what else do we need <3
Predictions/ theories
✔︎ Evan Peters will return as QuickSilver from another dimension, setting up the X-Men
✔︎ Vision will not return to the current timeline
✔︎ There will be a post credit scene setting up Spider-Man 3, confirming it will deal with the multiverse, along with a title reveal
✔︎ Wanda will completely lose the plot and accidentally bend the universe in the last episode
✔︎ Wanda will somehow be set up as the main antagonist of Doctor Strange 2
✔︎ Doctor strange will appear at some point
✔︎ For the first 7 episodes the audience is going to be completely in the dark as to what is really happening, but in the final episode, the curtain will be pulled back and we’ll see where Wanda really is, how she’s doing this, the effects it’s happening in the real world etc.
✔︎ Asian Jim and his forces will catch wind of what Wanda is doing and go to stop her.
wish I had the confidence of Letterboxd users who rate a show five stars after watching two episodes
every week my feed gets clogged with wandavision explained shit, and i’ve begun to realize that we’re reaching a logical endpoint in terms of capitalist production of entertainment. not only is there an industry for production, but there is now an industry for interpretation, as the references to old obscure comics and other movies (that no reasonably normal person could keep track of) appear with greater frequency and to ever more obscure things. i don’t care if one of these dumbass nerd things is “formally audacious” or has some kind of achievement in representation; i could read fucking in search of lost time in the same amount of time it would take me to catch up on all the movies and all the shows and then read all the articles about what a “Pietro Maximoff” is, like fuck off. i’m boomerfied, baby. i do not even care anymore. take me back to when watching a sitcom tv show did not require literal homework
Episode 4:
I'm not even kidding, i literally jumped when i saw THAT one scene at the end of the episde. That was terrifying 😳
This show is so much fun. I love everything about it so far, i just wish the episodes were a little bit longer
Cool. Don’t give up on it after the first couple of episodes like I wanted to. You won’t be sorry. I watched it with someone who points out the things to pay attention to so that helps to appreciate it.
And it goes without saying if you’re a Marvel fan, you will enjoy this.
Wow! Attention to detail, Easter eggs galore, just amazing quality for a “TV” series on Disney! Loved it! It’s a must watch even if you are not a MARVEL super fan.
Watched on Disney+.
