I find that Sienna Miller is becoming an increasingly underrated actress.
Or, perhaps, overlooked. She’s greatly elevated the last two movies I’ve seen her in: American Woman and Wander Darkly.
American Woman is very much a generic Sundance type of movie, but it feels better than that because Miller plays every note in that movie perfectly.
Wander Darkly is kind of a messy Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind wannabe—and since ESOTSM is my favorite movie, I actually mean that as a compliment—but Miller, and Diego Luna, elevate the material with their open and tender performances.
Not all of it works, but the stuff that does is very good.
