The great Laurel & Hardy! Not all of their feature length films allowed them to be themselves forcing on a artificial story. Here there is a story, but it's molded around their schtick instead of forcing Laurel & Hardy into some kind of fairytale which has nothing to do with what makes them such a great comic combo.
And this is one of their greatest ones. Up there with Sons of the Desert (1933). Classic moments:
1. Ollie drying himself on the way to town.
2. The two song numbers. The dancing one. And the pitching one.
3. The lighter!
4. Hat eating scene.
5. ...and the best one of all. Stan Laurel with a hot blond in the greatest bed scene ever!
And so much more big, minor and barely noticeable moments comic genius. So stupid, so predictable, so brilliant like only Laurel & Hardy can do! With priceless support from James Finlayson and Sharon Lynn as the bad guys. Pure joy!
