THE POINT, DEACON, IS THAT YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE DISHES FOR FIVE YEARS
hollywood's gonna keep shittin out avatar sequels when what we really need is more movies like this
Imdb trivia:
The man who plays Stu is not an actor but actually Stu Rutherford, a part-time business analyst for a Wellington company, LanWorx. He was hired for the film under the impression that he would be working on computers, and that he would play a small part in the film.
Stu is the purest human being alive, perhaps even of all time. This is a movie about Stu, made for Stu. I'm so glad the vampires realize this, protect Stu from all harm, at all cost.
Also the werewolves scene fucking killed me.
We don't smell our own crotches we smell each other's crotches.
Chase this bundle of sticks
I feel like every week a new person asks me “Have you seen ‘What We Do in the Shadows’” and I have to go “no not yet” and then they go “GET ON IT” so I finally got on it and it was hilarious and great
i'm watching the commentary version and,
taika: we're kinda far into the movie, does anyone watch the commentary past this point?
jemaine: no. i don't. i always turn it off
taika: maybe there's like a film student listening. we'll do it for that one person
thanks, guys
i was doing an erotic dance for my friends, and you ruined it. i was in the zone. my friends were loving it.
every single line uttered in this masterpiece belongs on a t-shirt, tattooed on my ass and engraved on my tombstone
if you are going to eat a sandwich, you would just enjoy it more if you knew no one had fucked it.
when people tell you that they like having guy friends because there's no drama, tell them to watch this
i'm really nervous. i've hypnotized those cops. i'm not a great hypnotizer so it could wear off any second. i really hope that those guys don't kill those police because it'll mean more police will come, possibly even christians which is totally the last thing we need in this house

"We're Werewolves, not Swear-Wolves."
The comedy genre has always been tethered to the nature of rewatchablility. With every comedy that I see, it's an aspect that has to be taken into account, as a second viewing can either make or break the experience. However, I know from the deep depths of my sore sides that What We Do in the Shadows will remain as a genuine cult classic, and a work of immense pleasure. It's a film that oozes a shocking dose of genius from every area of conception and execution, and pure hilarity is the result.
In particular, its mirage of mundane deadpan humor enriches its strange sense of emotion within detailed friendships, and it tiptoes a line…
Do you like "The Office"? Do you like "Thor: Ragnarok"? Do you like New Zealand? If you like any or all of those things then I have a suspicion that you'll enjoy our fifth Halloween film, Taika Waititi's "What We Do In The Shadows". It holds the title of The Only Good Vampire Movie In Recent Memory, as well as winning the prestigious Best New Zealandic Movie That Isn't A Lord Of The Rings Movie award. It elevates comedy to new heights.
Es interesante que no esperaba que fuera así de genial
Realmente tuve un buen momento viéndola y creo que Stu es el extra que mejoro la la película para mí
Realmente la recomiendo para pasar el rato y divertirse
This movie was incredible. Waititi and Clement create such a lovely film that although horrific at times is also just so much fun. I love how it plays so much into both the vampire and documentary elements so much. They both work so well. The acting is awesome and all of the characters are so great. This movie sounds so dumb on paper but its execution is great. I lost the movie a bit when they left the house and a lot of those moments feel very student-filmish to me which took me out of the movie. I also feel that Nick is really annoying and I don't think his characters handled very well. Still, I am a huge fan of Takia now and I'm so hyped for his Star Wars movie because this movie was incredible. This is now a yearly Halloween watch for me.
Just as bonkers as I expected. Now I can see why this was made into a TV series - this was basically three episodes back-to-back. I imagine that format suits it better than a movie.
