Baran Caliskan’s review published on Letterboxd:
Even though I knew it was directed by Cronenberg’s son, I was still surprised with how gory it was, but I’m not complaining. I loved a lot of the crazy mind bending visuals the film had to offer, it made a concept we’ve seen before feel unique and I applaud it for that.
The plot is probably the weakest part of the film, certain things are never fully clear and the characters aren’t given much to work with other than being puppets for the visuals and gore. It’s ambitious for sure and it delves into some interesting dystopian themes, but ends up being too vague and misses the chance to explore them.
Although I didn’t like it too much, I’ll definitely support it when I can.
