This was fun. The film manages to create a whole lived-in world just from that one shot of the beer floating in space. The performances from the whole cast were great. The visuals were decent. The practical effects were good and even when they were a bit weaker they were still charming and creative. Some of the green screen or matte effects haven't particularly aged well. While I liked the comedy in the film, some jokes…

It's now been a year since I've seen my friends and family in person. It sucks. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has handled the pandemic in the worst way possible. It sucks. Ontario Premier Doug Ford has severely messed up his handling of the pandemic as well, as I write this we've entered another lockdown, one that gives the police an abhorrent amount of power. It sucks. I watched "Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite". It sucks.

Eh. This is whatever. Another slow-moving, boring, and predictable kids movie. The acting from the main cast is fine. I thought Angelina Jolie was the worst part of the cast, and that cast includes a kid. The CGI is pretty good. I appreciated that there was effort put into the visuals, even though the visuals were nothing groundbreaking or anything. The score was annoying and overused. The song that played over the end credits also sucks.…

"The Sleeping Negro " is one of the most stunning and emotionally potent films I've seen in a while. The visuals are great. The Kodak film look was stunning. I loved the framing and lighting of each shot. The more experimental sequences were very well done. The performances were good. The writing was poetic and clever. I loved the score. The film moves at a good pace. I didn't like the use of wide-angle lenses during the argument scene, it felt like it was overkill and distracting. I enjoyed this movie a lot.
