Kauwboy ★★★½

To tell a story as small as this and penetrate so deep into one's heart you have to be very clever, and very sensitive.
And Boudewijin Koole has proved to be one. Koole's storytelling seems very similar to Ken Loach but without getting burned, and the story itself is raw and deeply personal one, perhaps slightly predictable and unfolds without much surprise, but is always genuine and without pretense.

Overall, a little bittersweet piece worth seeking out. It's probably too slight to get much notice even among hardcore cinephiles.
