Golden Agers Get Gruesome

With the phenomenal success of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, a whole new market opened up. Get a star from the Golden Age, cast them in a horrorish thriller with nasty bits and watch the cash flow in. That was the theory at least - quality and returns varied wildly.

This genre - its own Golden Age lasted for two decades after Baby Jane - eventually earned the tasteless title 'Hagsploitation' which I refuse to use. Rather better is 'Psycho Biddy' but I've decided to coin my brand new genre title. So there!
